Penta-Ocean wins ¥41.5B deal for Hong Kong Airport link road and station project

Japanese company Penta-Ocean Construction Co. announced that it has been awarded a major contract by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to build a dedicated automated vehicle roadway and station facilities at Hong Kong International Airport.

The project spans approximately 3.8 kilometers and includes seawall renovation, ground-level roads, elevated bridges, and station development. The contract is valued at around ¥41.5 billion (approximately USD 290 million), with a construction period of about four years.

Its primary objective is to construct a dedicated roadway for automated transport vehicles connecting the airport with Tung Chung, a key transportation hub. The development is expected to improve accessibility and accommodate anticipated growth in passenger traffic at the airport.

Penta-Ocean established its Hong Kong office in 1986 and has since built a strong track record in the region, including the development of university facilities and a cruise terminal.

At Hong Kong International Airport, the company was also responsible for ground improvement works for the third runway in 2016.
