Ministry of Construction pledges support for Hung Yen's regional port planning efforts

A delegation from Vietnam's Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang, met with Hung Yen Province leaders to discuss regional planning, focusing on the Thai Binh economic zone and seaport development.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang praised Hung Yen’s strategic vision to transform the Thai Binh economic zone into a regional economic hub. He emphasized that the Ministry is fully committed to supporting the province in implementing its development plans.

"The Ministry of Construction highly values Hung Yen’s forward-thinking approach in promoting regional connectivity and economic growth", Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang said. "We stand ready to assist in all aspects of planning and implementation to ensure the project’s success".

Following the meeting, the Deputy Minister instructed relevant departments within the Ministry to continue conducting in-depth studies and to formulate practical proposals for submission to the Prime Minister.

Earlier in the session, a consulting unit presented several detailed planning options for the land and water areas related to Thai Binh seaport development. Delegates then engaged in comprehensive discussions, evaluating the current conditions of individual port zones, proposed expansion plans, and the renovation of maritime transport routes through 2030, with a long-term vision to 2050.

The proposed upgrades to Diem Dien Port and its surrounding logistics infrastructure are expected to play a key role in boosting trade capacity and fostering sustainable regional development.
